Meet some people

Meet Sara

How long have you been in London? London born n’ bred until I was 18. Lived in Plymouth for a total of 5 years, then in Uganda for a while, and then returned to London 2.5 years ago!

What’s the best and worst things about London? Hmmm…they can be quite interlinked I think.  Often the things I love most can be the things drive me potty too! But I would probably say that the best is most definitely the people and the worst would have to be the crowds and the pace of life.

How did you become a Christian? I became a Christian 6 years ago at University, when I was 20, through a friend on my course patiently explaining the gospel to me and helping me to see with my own eyes through the Bible who God really is and what He offers to everyone.  Originally, I began finding out information only to use as ammunition against believers to prove how wrong they were!  But after some time, whilst reading the account of Jesus’ crucifixion in Mark’s gospel, the reality and significance of what Jesus actually did really hit me, and cut me to the heart such that I wanted to fall to my knees and cry before God for forgiveness.

How have you found it at Euston Church? I’ve LOVED being at Euston church!  Here I find my family who truly care for me and seek to look out for me in all areas of life and don’t leave me to figure things out by myself. Besides that, there has been loads to do to help the church and others to the point that it’s really obvious that everyone is needed, which is good for someone like me who likes to be useful!

Mumford and sons / McFly? Clearly Mumford and Sons!!  McFly – pffftttt!!!

Xfactor / Strictly? Strictly wins hands down on this one.  I trained in dancing since I was 4 years old so anything that involves dancing wins me every-time!

If you could be anywhere in the world? Right this moment?  On top of a cliff or a mountain, overlooking the vastness of the ocean, the land rolling out behind and around me, with the warm sun beating down on my face and nothing to listen to but the sound of the wind swirling around me.  That would be bliss!  Thanks Sara!

Meet Tom

What do you study? Speech sciences at UCL, just finishing second year.

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learnt? People with northern accents are less employable that people with southern ones… (apparently)

How did you become a Christian? There are no dramatic life changing events really involved in my story, but sometime between sixth form at school and my first year of uni I realised that God meant more than just going to church every Sunday, and that He was actually a massive part of my life now.

How have you found it at Euston Church? Incredible. Great teaching. Amazing people. Awesome friends. A really welcoming and loving church. It’s such a good place to grow as a Christian for me, and I recommend it to everyone!

When was the last time you had your hair cut? Actually not too long ago, but it’d got to the stage where something had to be done, as I didn’t really think I could rock a mullet :/ before that… too long!

Mumford and Sons / McFly? Mumford, every time. Awesome lyrics, dunno the last time they had haircuts though..

Fav film? Wayyy too many to decide one from, but it’d probably be between any Austin powers film, Bad boys, 500 days of summer, Avatar, the bourne trilogy, Despicable me, Lion king etc and I guess I’d have to say the Kings Speech was good being a speech therapist student! It slightly devalues the word “favourite” if you chose 8… nevermind..

If you could be anywhere in the world? New Zealand!? Can’t really go wrong with somewhere that you can snowboard and surf on the same day! Thanks Tom!!
